Q. Why should I use a Travel Agent?
A. With all of the travel options out there vacation planning can be both confusing and time consuming. A
Travel Agent is your personal shopper who takes the myriad of
options and presents you a few choices based on your preferences. A good travel agent saves you money by saving you time. They keep up to date on the latest promotions and do the research so you don't have to.
Q. Why should I use you as a Travel Agent?
A. There is no shortage of places on the internet where you can
go to book travel or talk to a call center. I believe there is a shortage of personal one-on-one contact and good customer service. My clients value my knowledge of various Suppliers and destinations. Some seek the convenience of having an agent perform research and handling their booking so they can spend more time with their family and friends instead of on the computer and phone.
Q. How much does it cost to use a Travel Agent?
A. In most cases nothing! I am usually paid by the Vendors and Suppliers who provide your travel. I do charge for booking air-only airline tickets. I also charge a small cancellation fee. For a full explanation of fees, please see below.
Q. What are your fees?
A. It's rare when I charge a fee. These are the three types of things I charge for:
$25 per ticket if you have me book published air independent of a tour or travel package. If the ticket is a bulk, net, or consolidator fare then the fee is waived.
A cancellation fee if the trip is booked less than 7 days prior to departure.
When booking properties that do not pay commission (such as rental by owner) I charge a finders fee.
I do not charge change or consultation fees. Trip quotes are free.
Q. Do I need travel insurance?
A. Not necessarily. When you use a credit card to pay for your
trip there is often some form of travel protection. I always offer travel insurance since card issuer provided coverage varies. Additionally, when traveling outside of the country your health care provider may not provide coverage. Always check the terms of your credit card and health insurance.
